“Santa Claus Is Coming to Town” is one of the most iconic American Christmas songs. It was written in 1934 by the songwriting duo John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie, and first premiered on the radio in the Eddie Cantor Show. The response was immediate and enthusiastic – the song spread quickly across the country and soon became a beloved Christmas classic.
In my guitar arrangement on gitarrelernen-anfaenger.de, I decided to add a touch of jazz to some of the chords to give the song a more modern and harmonically colorful feel. When practicing, start slow and steady to get comfortable with the chord changes. Then gradually increase the tempo until the characteristic festive swing begins to emerge.
Enjoy playing, and have a joyful musical holiday season! 🎄🎸
